Job Description

Role: Vmware XenServer Migration Engineer

Remote

Location: Nearshore, overlap with US time zones

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months (extendable)

Core focus: Plan and execute migration waves from VMware vSphere to Citrix Hypervisor/XenServer; build/optimize pools, storage repositories (SRs), networking/VLANs, HA/DR; integrate with CVAD (MCS/PVS) and NetScaler/ADC.

Must required Skills- Proven VMware → XenServer migrations (pilot → waves → cutover) with runbooks and rollback plans.

Strong Citrix Hypervisor/XenServer (pools, SRs, networking, HA) + solid VMware vSphere/ESXi.

CVAD exposure (images, profiles, app/desktop publishing), NetScaler/ADC basics.

V2V/OVF-OVA export/import, driver/tools adjustments, storage/network re-mapping.

Scripting/automation (PowerShell/CLI/XS), excellent troubleshooting, independent operator and problem solver.

Immediate actions

• Check for our recent Citrix VDI pipeline first. Identify anyone we interviewed who has this skillset.
• Send a 3-point summary per candidate:
• Actual migration(s) done (scale, tools, timelines)
• XenServer depth (pools, SR, HA, networking)
• Example of independent problem-solving (issue → fix → outcome)
