About the Role
Spectra Solutions is looking for a Lead .NET API Developer with strong Azure experience to join our team for a long-term engagement. This role requires excellent communication skills, confidence in client interactions, and the willingness to relocate to Chicago prior to starting.
You will lead API development initiatives, collaborate closely with client leadership, and contribute to high-impact technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of .NET-based APIs using best practices.
- Work extensively with Azure services for API hosting, integration, and deployment.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders in a client-facing capacity.
- Troubleshoot and optimize API performance and scalability.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide guidance to the development team.
- Ensure best practices in coding, security, and DevOps alignment.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with .NET Core / .NET 6+ API development.
- Strong experience with Azure services (App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, etc.).
- Strong understanding of REST API design, security, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills — must be confident in client-facing interactions.
- Must be willing to relocate to Chicago before the project start.
- Ability to work independently and lead development efforts.
