The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst with foundational data science capabilities to join our analytics team. This role focuses on delivering insights through data exploration, visualization, and reporting, while applying statistical and predictive techniques to solve business problems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, data visualization, and business analytics, with working knowledge of Python/R /R and machine learning fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Data Analyst will:

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, correlations, and anomalies
  • Deliver actionable recommendations that support data-driven decision-making
  • Design and maintain KPI dashboards and performance reports to track business outcomes

Data Management & Quality

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for analytics and reporting
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data pipelines, data models, and data quality processes
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of business-critical datasets

Visualization & Communication

  • Create compelling dashboards and data visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
  • Translate technical findings into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Deliver presentations and reports that influence strategic and operational decisions

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with product, operations, finance, and data science teams to design analyses and models that drive impact
  • Mentor junior analysts on best practices in SQL, visualization, and statistical thinking

Applied Data Science

  • Build and evaluate predictive models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) for business use cases
  • Apply statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, A/B testing, sampling) to validate findings
  • Support feature engineering and exploratory data analysis (EDA) for advanced analytics projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis, BI, or analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong experience with relational databases (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of statistics (regression, hypothesis testing, experimental design)
  • Experience with Python or R for data manipulation, visualization, and modeling
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical results to business stakeholders

Work Location, Shift & Schedule

This position is fully remote with strict adherence to a Work from Home policy. Occasional travel may be required to offsite locations to participate in regional meetings, client new business opportunities, industry conferences or tradeshows. Shifox/Alopex employees work Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm EST or according to the business hours of clients’ practices.
