Job summary
As the HR Coordinator based in our Cooma office, you will ensure new hires have a smooth and professional entry into the business. You will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle with a strong focus on onboarding, induction, training coordination, and pre-employment checks. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance with company procedures. This role is central to creating positive employee experience and supporting day-to-day HR operations.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including inductions and internal communication for new hires.
- Manage and coordinate for employee medical check-ups.
- Provide general administrative support to the employees and respond to employee queries.
- Facilitate internal and external training sessions and maintain training records.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including record updates, letter preparation, Visa processes, calendar coordination, and maintaining accurate employee information.
- Process HR-related invoices and liaise with internal finance teams and external providers for agreement setup and payment coordination.
- Maintaining employee records in soft copy and personal files.
- Provide assistance to the HR manager on employee feedback initiatives and recognition programs.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of housing and relocation support.
- Assist with reporting and tracking of HR metrics as required.
- Support document storage in SAP and Aconex.
- Maybe required to travel to Sydney/Goulburn from time to time for project updates /meetings etc.
- Provide ad hoc support to the HR Manager on various initiatives and HR projects.
Qualification & Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in an HR coordinator, HR administrator, or generalist role.
- Knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation, and onboarding best practices.
- Familiarity with HRIS/SAP systems and employee data and records management.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- High-level administrative skillset with attention to detail.
- Highly effective time management capabilities, prioritizing tasks efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering innovative, solution-driven outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, leveraging tools to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
Project Information
Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market. Voith is the awarded Subcontractor. The above role is in connection to this project.
