We have two exciting opportunities available in New York City for experienced Security Engineers. Both positions are in fast-paced and dynamic environments, requiring the ability to solve complex problems. Why is this important? My client is looking for Security Engineers with impressive academic and professional experience who can quickly acquire new skills and technologies, and, more importantly, solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
Role 1: Senior Security Engineer
This position is the first security hire since the appointment of the Head of Information Security. It is ideal for Security Engineers who are builders by nature and can work across systems security, network security, and security operations. A focus on Palo Alto and Splunk technology would set you apart for this role.
Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems and networks. Experience solving complex security problems in the financial services sector is highly advantageous. Think of yourself as a "Swiss army knife" who knows how to secure infrastructure, with expertise in firewalls and SIEM.
Role 2: Senior Security Engineer
This is also a first security hire role, focused on protecting my client's intellectual property. A diverse skill set is required, with a background in detection response engineering, EDR, and threat and vulnerability management. While this isn't a software engineering role, a high level of scripting ability and a passion for automation are essential.
Understanding different threat actors and how to address them is crucial. Given the heavy Linux focus of the business, strong Linux experience is a must. This role is suited to out-of-the-box thinkers who might not take the standard route to solve technical problems and love solving puzzles.
Additional Information
Although these two roles differ in nature, both require candidates to be onsite in New York City three days per week, with the option to work from home for two days. The total compensation will exceed your expectations, and relocation support from another U.S. state is available.
