About Initek Consulting

Initek Consulting is a small consulting firm specializing in vehicle telematics and system integration for the bus industry. We build cloud based solutions that help transit organizations better monitor, manage and optimize their operations.

We are in a key stage of expansion and are seeking a full-time developer who is motivated to grow into a senior engineer over time. You’ll join a small, high-performing engineering team led by an experienced principal engineer, with direct mentorship and a clear path toward taking on major technical responsibilities.

🔧 What This Role Is

This is a career growth role — not a static junior position.

You’ll begin by supporting production systems, customer needs and feature development. As you gain experience, you’ll be trusted with solutions design and eventually leadership-level responsibilities. Long-term, the role has the potential to grow into a key technical partner within Initek Consulting.

🛠 Responsibilities

• Learn to develop and maintain an AWS cloud SaaS platform
• Provide customer support to clients and key technology partners
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Implement bug fixes and code improvements
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with a small engineering team in a fully remote environment
• Gradually grow into taking ownership of complex solutions and integrations

💡 Technologies You’ll Work With

(Experience with all is not required — exposure to some is expected.)

• Backend: Python / Flask Framework
• Frontend: Vue.js
• AWS: Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, SES, S3
• Dev Workflow: Jira, Git, Bitbucket Pipelines

⭐ Nice-to-Have

• Experience with vehicle telematics, IoT, or fleet management systems
• Broader or deeper AWS experience

📚 Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical development experience
• 0-5 years of work experience (new grads are welcome to apply)
• Must be a U.S. citizen and live in the United States
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small team
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on increased responsibilities over time
