Job Description
Data Center Engineer – Infrastructure, Virtualization & Automation
Location: Phoenix, AZ / Walnut Creek, CA (Relocation required prior to full-time conversion; other locations may be considered during contract phase)
Employment Type: Contract to Hire | On-site or Hybrid
Rate: $ 70-85/hr
Required:
7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or data center operations.
Expertise with Cisco HX/UCS, VMware vSphere, Nutanix HCI, and Cohesity.
Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server platforms.
Hands-on experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.
Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
Scripting ability in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
Proven ability to lead, communicate across teams, and deliver technical results.
Willingness to relocate to one of the designated offices prior to full-time hire.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Certifications: VCP, RHCE, Nutanix NCP, CCNP, Azure/AWS Associate.
Familiarity with ITIL, change management, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Prometheus).
Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
