About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Data Engineer to join a rapidly expanding geospatial solutions provider based in the UK. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing complex geospatial data pipelines and systems. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of innovative GIS solutions that support a wide range of client projects, from environmental monitoring to urban planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS data processing, scripting, and web mapping, with a passion for leveraging geospatial data to solve real-world problems.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, or a related field. Essential skills include extensive experience with ETL pipelines using tools such as Safe FME and GDAL, proficiency in SQL queries, and Python scripting for data manipulation and automation. Hands-on experience with geospatial web mapping technologies and desktop GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and GeoServer is required. A solid understanding of spatial data formats, coordinate systems, and data management principles is also essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include designing and implementing efficient ETL processes to extract, transform, and load geospatial data from various sources. You will develop and maintain web mapping applications and desktop GIS solutions to support client needs. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy across all projects.
