Senior Network Engineer (IP Infusion/OcNOS & Whitebox)

This 6-month contract-to-hire role is a looking for a Network Engineer with strong experience with the below technologies and responsibilities.

This complex Service Provider supports over 100,000 subscribers, and are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in IP Infusion (OcNOS) and Whitebox networking platforms.

This engineer will play a key role in network optimization, performance tuning, and incident response, ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of the production environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, implement, and troubleshoot networks
• Design and support our network systems and infrastructure
• Configure and operate routers and switches
• Monitor network performance and make recommendations based on performance analysis

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in a Service Provider or large-scale production environment.
• Direct, hands-on experience with IP Infusion (OcNOS) — must have installed, configured, and supported in production.
• Strong understanding of whitebox hardware platforms (e.g., Edgecore, UfiSpace).
• Deep knowledge of routing protocols and Service Provider technologies, including:

BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EVPN, and Segment Routing.

• Expertise in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis within carrier-grade environments.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and performance tools (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar).
• Strong Linux fundamentals and comfort working with disaggregated network operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in disaggregated networking or open network OS environments.
• Knowledge of network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Netconf/YANG).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for collaboration with distributed teams.
