Company Description
School for a Village (S4V) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by young people in Kenya and the United States. We aim to bridge the gap in science and technology education for underserved secondary schools around the world through need-specific, targeted support.
Example Projects: We built three science laboratories in Bahjoi, India - enabling over 1000 students to complete the entirety of the state-mandated curriculum for the first time. We also partnered with Choosito!, an NSF-funded student search engine and digital library, to bring high-quality, personalized resources to students in Nanyuki, Kenya. Communications Director Job Description
We are seeking a resourceful and creative individual with skills in graphic design, professional writing, social media content creation, and/or web analytics who is ready to devote ~10 hours a week on a longitudinal basis to S4V. Proficiency in content creation softwares such as Canva and Photoshop, as well as a firm grasp of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation of general marketing materials, including brochures, one pagers, and annual reports
- Develop educational materials, including workbooks, used in our programming
- Collaborate with the grant team to create compelling grant applications and donor communications
- Plan and execute special communication projects and campaigns as needed
- Manage and support other communications staff as needed
