Job Description
π Senior GenAI Data & MLOps Engineer wanted π
Are you a data enthusiast who loves combining smart engineering with cutting-edge GenAI/LLM tools, experienced in an end-to-end data process, from data engineering to MLOps?
Do you want to see your work have a real-world, tangible impact - like influencing what products people buy, how much they spend, or what offers perform best?
Do you thrive in a remote-first team where every idea is heard, where there's zero politics, and where innovation is the default?
If you're nodding yes, keep reading! πβ¬οΈ
π‘ With HQ in Vienna and team members spread across Austria and Germany, our client is a fast-growing, data-driven tech company with around 80-90 employees in total, working for over a decade now. The company culture? Small, agile teams. Strong ownership. No silos. No egos. Just data, impact, and results.
π₯· What your role will look like?
- Build scalable data pipelines with Python, SQL, and Databricks (Azure).
- Use GenAI tools like ChatGPT & Gemini to prompt, structure, and enrich data.
- Prototype and implement computer vision solutions (e.g. flyer image extraction).
- Bridge the gap between data science, software engineering, and IT operations to ensure that ML models are reliable, scalable, and continuously improved in production environments.
- Automate deployment pipelines, monitor model performance, and ensure infrastructure reliability.
- Collaborate with the Data team to bring AI features into production.
- Own your solutions from concept to deployment.
- Maintain high data quality via testing, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and validations.
- Work with terabyte-scale data and innovate with it - every day.
π Youβre a great fit if you...
- Have 3-5+ years of experience in full-stack data roles (Data Engineering and MLOps).
- Are fluent in Python, PySpark and SQL.
- Are experienced in Airflow, MLFlow, and Kubernetes.
- Have good computer vision (Vision AI, CNNs, Transformers) and LLM skills (RAG, BERT fine-tuning), and are comfortable with GenAI workflows: prompting, embedding, evaluating models.
- Are experienced in Databricks and Azure.
- Love thinking outside the box, learning fast, and working in a βzero-politicsβ environment
- Speak German. Not a must requirement though - but the data is in German, so itβs a huge plus.
π What awaits you?
- A high-impact role in a growing team, where your work is seen, heard, and valued.
- A remote-first culture with real flexibility.
- Terabyte-scale data, modern tools (Databricks, Azure, HuggingFace, OpenAI), and real-world use cases.
- Collaboration with smart, humble colleagues who are passionate about solving real problems.
- A healthy work-life balance, team events, learning budgets, and optional office vibes (yes, dogs allowed πΆ).
π° Salary: Starting around β¬85,000 gross annually, with the potential for overpayment, based on seniority.
π‘ Location: You can be fully remote, with the base in either Germany or Austria.
π Want to shape the future of data, AI, and retail tech? Be part of a team thatβs connecting data silos, building bridges, and delivering impact at scale.
