Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Enterprise Systems

We are seeking the primary owner of the infrastructure and environments supporting EPST and related systems (IAWT and FASTracker), across development, test, staging/COOP, and production tiers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support multiple environments (dev/test/stage/COOP/prod) for EPST, IAWT, and FASTracker
• Coordinate deployments, patches, and configuration changes through a formal change control process
• Implement and maintain system monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning to ensure high availability
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in collaboration with DBAs, developers, and cybersecurity staff
• Support COOP/Disaster Recovery posture, including backups, failover configurations, and restoration testing
• Contribute to security and compliance activities (e.g., RMF documentation, STIGs, vulnerability remediation)
• Participate in routine operational reviews and provide input on architecture, scaling, and performance improvements

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer supporting mission-critical enterprise applications..
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and hardening.
• Experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or other commercial/GovCloud platforms).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, routing basics).
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity practices, such as RMF, STIGs, and security baselines.
• Experience working with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or similar) in a structured ITIL/ITSM-style environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to own complex issues from identification through resolution.

U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a federal background check (required for system access).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following are a plus:

• Prior experience supporting DoD, DLA, or other federal production systems.
• Experience with Citrix / VDI environments and remote access at scale
• Exposure to database-backed enterprise applications (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar).
• Familiarity with high-availability and COOP/DR architectures.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CASP, MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, AWS/Azure certifications, or equivalent.

Engagement Parameters

• Type: 1099 Independent Contractor.
• Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week expected once fully engaged).
• Location: Fully remote within the United States.
• Compensation: $105–$120 per hour (1099), depending on experience and qualifications.
• Start Date: Targeted for around April 2026, aligned with contract start
• Contingency: Position is contingent on award of the underlying federal contract.
