Senior Backend Architect/Engineer - Crypto Exchange

About Us

We are building the next-generation crypto exchange — fast, secure, and built for real scalability. You will join at an early stage, helping design the architecture, write core systems, and shape our tech culture from the ground up.

We are looking for a technical builder with leadership potential — someone who can code, design architecture, and grow into a future CTO role.

What You’ll Do

• Own backend and system architecture: design, implement, and optimize scalable components on cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).
• Remain hands-on with critical development (approximately 70% coding & quality assurance / 30% leadership, transitioning over time).
• Collaborate closely with the CEO and product owner on the roadmap, priorities, and sprint planning.
• Define engineering best practices: CI/CD, testing, code reviews, and security standards.
• Mentor and grow the engineering team as we scale (frontend, backend, DevOps, mobile).
• Oversee system reliability, infrastructure, and security in production.
• Apply a practical, solutions-focused mindset to deliver fast and high-impact outcomes.

Who You Are

• Senior engineer or architect with strong backend experience (C# or Node.js).
• Startup experience is required; you are comfortable wearing multiple hats and moving fast with limited structure.
• Fintech experience is a plus; trading background is preferred.
• Proven ability to deliver production-grade systems in early-stage environments (pre-seed to Series A).
• Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Working knowledge of frontend frameworks (React / Next.js) and mobile stacks (Flutter or Kotlin Multiplatform) is a plus.
• Familiarity with blockchain integrations, APIs, or Web3 libraries (ethers.js, Web3.js, Solidity) is advantageous.
• Independent, solutions-oriented, and execution-driven — capable of making things happen with minimal supervision.

• Integrations: Payment APIs, trading systems, on-chain and off-chain analytics

Location & Setup

• Fully remote (EU timezone overlap preferred)
• Full-time role with potential relocation options
