About The Role
The Bath Institute for the Augmented Human (IAH) at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint an Electronics Specialist and Prototyping Engineer.
You will join a multidisciplinary team aiming to accelerate technology development relevant to human augmentation across a broad range of thematic areas including Neurotechnology, Virtual/Augmented Realities, wearables, Virtual Digital Assistants, and Exoskeletons/Prosthetics.
We are looking for someone with passion for technology, a range of specialist skills in electronics engineering and the flexibility to work across projects, to join a new research institute aiming to shape the technology of the future in a vibrant and inclusive environment.
This position is offered on a full time basis, fixed term for 3 years.
About You
You will have a broad range of electronics/electrical engineering skills and be able to demonstrate depth and breadth of specialist knowledge of technologies such as circuit design, programming, prototyping and production processes. You will be passionate about the future of technology and about being part of an institute that is targeting real world impact.
We are looking for experience across several of the areas listed below:
- Proficient in electronic circuit design and production.
- Rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
- Embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
- Design and manufacture of functional prototypes.
- Quality control standards and/or quality management systems.
- Developing and executing test plans and verification for electronic systems.
- Creativity, innovation and analytical skills in solving complex problems.
- Proficiency with software development tools, processes and methodologies.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
- Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure product quality.
