Redtech is helping our client, a mission-minded local company passionate about Travel, with a Direct Hire search for a Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer with 5+ years of experience. Location – Edmonds, WA (Local candidates preferred/Relocation assistance possible)

Schedule – Hybrid. Onsite 3 days per week, everyone is in office on Wed and other 2 days are flexible and can be worked out directly with the manager

• Parking is company paid


Requires successful completion of background check

US Citizen required


Compensation – $115,000-$126,000 annually + discretionary profit sharing and bonus program

Description

As a full stack Rails developer, equally comfortable in both front-end and back-end work, you’ll join our existing team of developers to build and maintain the web applications that drive our public websites and internal processes. You’ll work closely with members of other departments to design and develop solutions that best serve the needs of our customers and coworkers. As a customer-focused company, these solutions must be functional, intuitive, and easy to use. The ideal candidate will also be self-directed and be able to take ownership of a new feature and drive it from a set of requirements into production.

Responsibilities:

Work with a small team of developers to build web and mobile applications that serve our customer-facing and business-related needs (30-40% maintenance of applications)

Collaborate with team members on solutions with a focus on functionality, user experience, and technical design

Write automated tests to help ensure code works as designed

Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for professional growth with other developers

Contribute to UI/UX design and implementation

Produce clean, performant, and smartly documented code

Build integrations with various systems using RESTful APIs and other web services

Guide deployments through our Git/CI/Heroku pipeline

Assist in manual system and integration testing efforts

Perform maintenance and bug fixes on existing projects

Support day-to-day end-user issues and requests

Manage deliverables and deadlines according to approved project plans

Qualifications:

5+ years of professional software development experience

At least 3+ years of Ruby on Rails experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Expertise in building and scaling web applications using a modern web development framework

Strong skills in full front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JS

Experience JavaScript frameworks (Stimulus, React, jQuery, etc.)

Proficiency in writing clean, well-tested code

Proficiency in building and consuming web services

Experience with Heroku, AWS, Git, Stripe, Square

Qualtrics, ColdFusion or Salesforce experience a plus

Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven organizational and multitasking abilities
