About the Role:

Woodside Energy are seeking a Marketing & Trading Principal Analyst, with particular experience in oil, to join our team in Singapore, Houston or Perth (relocation considered) to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision making within Marketing and Trading. This is a great opportunity to develop comprehensive analysis of oil markets whilst gaining exposure across LNG and domestic gas with some opportunities in new energy as well.

In this role, you will be given the opportunity to be a thought leader and work with minimal supervision interacting with various parts of the business independently to provide analytical insights, maintain market balance models, deliver thought leadership, and input into Marketing and Trading decisions and strategy at Woodside.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities and duties of this role include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead development and maintenance of information and databases on oil production forecasts, demand outlooks and pricing trends to inform business decisions
• Analyse global oil markets, producing and supporting studies and opportunity recommendations for Marketing & Trading
• Help with maintaining the portfolio supply and sales tracker for marketing and trading decisions
• Provide valuation for pricing analysis for new deals and project opportunities
• Provide key inputs in development of the oil marketing strategy and ongoing management reporting
• Provide analytical upskilling and ongoing training to junior analysts
• Be responsible for adhering to relevant internal and external reporting needs
• Be prepared to support adhoc work as required by the business

Skills & Experience:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) preferably in a quantitative subject such as finance, business, mathematics, economics
• 7+ years experience analysing global oil markets fundamentals and pricing
• Preferably experienced in managing and/or mentoring analysts
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision to deliver outputs at a high standard (Executive level)
• Highly analytical, with a strong attention to detail
• Excellent Excel skills with modelling experience strongly preferred
• Excellent written and presentation skills
• Critical thinking: Ability to objectively analyse a wide range of data and information to solve problems and form conclusions based on analysis
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously and delivering to deadlines
