Job Description

The rapid growth of Iris.ai’s product portfolio has created an exceptional opportunity to drive fundamental in-house research at the forefront of NLP. We are looking for a Senior NLP Research Engineer with deep expertise and a passion for breakthrough innovation to join our research team. This is a role for someone eager to explore uncharted territory in language technology within a fast-moving, intellectually stimulating startup environment, where advanced ideas quickly evolve into production-ready solutions and peer-recognized scientific contributions.

Core Technologies Include

• Python (OOP) for research and production code
• ML/NLP frameworks such as PyTorch/TensorFlow and transformers
• AWS, Docker, and distributed systems for large-scale experimentation
• Integration with advanced LLM and API ecosystems (e.g., OpenAI)
• Git and modern CI/CD workflows for robust research engineering
  
  

Job Responsibilities

• Research & Development: Stay current with AI/ML advances and apply them to create innovative solutions.
• Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize ML models, including data prep, feature engineering, and tuning.
• Prototyping: Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate ideas.
• Data & Evaluation: Oversee data collection/annotation and design experiments to evaluate and refine models.
• Documentation: Produce clear technical documentation for research findings, algorithms, and code.
• Ethics & Quality: Ensure responsible AI practices and implement best testing and QA standards.
• Community & Publications: Engage with the AI community through conferences and publish in relevant journals.
  
  

Requirements

• PhD degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science or similar subject
• At least 5 years of relevant industry ML research experience
• Professional experience with ML and NLP projects
• Extensive knowledge and experience with NLP
• Impeccable coding skills in Python
• Knowledge in object oriented programming, code optimization, distributed computation, and architecture design
• A record of publications in the ML or NLP fields.
