Investors, lenders, regulators, shareholders, customers and employees are putting pressure on companies to consider how their business impacts the world, their contribution to society and how they conduct themselves. It is now clear that having a clear purpose and positive impact on the planet and its people matters like never before.
We are looking at hiring a talented individual at an Advisor or Advisory Assistant level to support the growing ask on ESG by our clients, and to champion the ESG agenda across the firm.
Main Duties
- Implementation of ESG projects, providing specialist advice and acting as team member in the delivery of such projects; ESG projects cover a range of topics such as ESG reporting (including reporting under the CSRD and the EU Taxonomy, and carbon accounting), ESG strategy development and implementation, ESG training, and ESG assurance;
- Conducting technical research in support of ESG projects and proposals;
- Be involved in market research, development of new products, training materials, proposals, etc.;
- Supporting in the implementation of KPMG Malta’s own ESG strategy, including ESG reporting.
Who We Are Looking For…
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following attributes:
- Graduate in sustainability, particularly in subjects having an environmental focus – relevant topics include biology, chemistry, and earth systems;
- Preferably have at least 1-2 years of sustainability-related experience;
- Interested in ESG, enjoys learning and self-study – previous training on ESG will be considered an asset, as will any relevant experience (such as in the voluntary sector);
- Up to the challenge of discovering and creating new materials to support clients and colleagues in their ESG journey;
- Logical and detail oriented;
- Comfortable with numbers and complex scientific / technical concepts;
- Good with MS Office (including Excel and PowerPoint);
- Good communication skills in English – including writing and presentation skills;
- A team player;
- Takes initiative.
Candidates must have a curious mindset, good communication skills, and creativity and flexibility to drive the ESG agenda forward.
