Lead Security Engineer – SaaS / Cloud (UK Remote)

Our client, a hyper-growth SaaS company, is hiring a Lead Security Engineer to lead and deliver enterprise cloud security across the UK and EMEA. This is not a blue team or purely operational role — it’s a hands-on, jack-of-all-trades position for someone who can design, build, and secure & configure modern multi-cloud environments while influencing strategy at a senior level.

The Role

• Act as the go-to security lead for enterprise clients across Azure, AWS, and GCP, driving cloud transformation projects end-to-end.
• Architect and implement secure cloud environments - covering network security, IAM, firewalls, NSGs, ASGs, WAFs, and containerized workloads.
• Integrate and automate security across DevSecOps pipelines (CI/CD, SSDLC), ensuring secure builds and deployments.
• Write and review secure code; script in Python, PowerShell, or Bash or similar to automate security tasks, testing, and compliance checks.
• Conduct penetration testing, threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and forensics with a focus on real-world, hands-on execution.
• Translate complex technical risks into clear strategic guidance for CISOs, IT Directors, and enterprise stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years in information security, spanning cloud, application, and network security.
• Proven hands-on Azure security experience, including NSG, ASG, and Front Door (WAF) configuration.
• Strong understanding of application security (OWASP Top 10, SAST, DAST, SSDLC) and secure coding practices.
• Deep networking knowledge (L4–L7) and experience with firewalls, proxies, and traffic inspection.
• Ability to write and review code (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and remediation.
• Excellent communication skills — able to engage Tier 1 enterprise clients with clarity and confidence.
• Certifications: CISSP is preferred ; Azure Security Engineer / AWS Security Specialty / GCP Security Engineer (preferred).
