Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Compensation: $70/hr | Conversion up to $140,000

About the Role

TechLine Consulting is hiring on behalf of a client seeking a Java Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This remote role focuses on backend development using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. The ideal candidate is a strong generalist who can contribute across the full development lifecycle and is looking to grow into a long-term engineering role.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design scalable systems
• Deploy and manage backend applications in AWS environments
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Participate in DevOps workflows, CI/CD processes, and automation
• Monitor and optimize system performance
• Engage in team agile ceremonies, code reviews, and peer collaboration

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and API architecture
• Solid AWS experience (e.g., Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS)
• Proficiency in relational databases and version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker a plus)
• Strong communicator who thrives in distributed teams
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
