About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Specialist to join the organisation’s small but dynamic global technology team. This is a pivotal role at a time of significant growth, where you will be responsible for owning and managing the entire testing process, including service and environment management. As the sole QA engineer, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, working in a fast-paced, agile environment. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing both manual and automated testing strategies to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of the organisation’s software and hardware solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape testing processes from the ground up, influence product quality standards, and potentially lead QA initiatives as the organisation expands.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in both functional and non-functional testing, including performance and stress testing. You should be comfortable conducting manual testing and possess the skills to automate tests where it adds value. Strong problem-solving abilities, independence, and pragmatic decision-making are essential, as you will operate with minimal supervision. Additionally, you should be adaptable, eager to learn, and capable of thriving in a small, collaborative team environment where versatility is valued. Familiarity with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments such as AWS is advantageous but not essential for day-one readiness.

Responsibilities

 

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual and automated test plans to ensure software and hardware solutions meet quality standards.
• Own the testing lifecycle, including planning, scripting, execution, and reporting of test results.
• Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating with developers and other stakeholders to facilitate prompt resolution.
• Design and implement automated testing frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage of testing processes.
• Participate in sprint planning and review meetings, providing insights on quality and testing progress.
• Ensure testing environments are properly configured and maintained to support continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, and methodologies within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in QA and automation to enhance testing effectiveness.
