The Opportunity

As Security Engineering Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and managing our global security engineering program. You’ll lead a talented security engineering team, strengthen product and cloud security capabilities, and drive software security initiatives.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced, automation-first environments - a technical leader who loves mentoring and empowering engineers, getting hands-on when needed, and embedding security into cutting-edge tech.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a growing global team of security engineers, creating a positive, high-performance culture.
• Own and evolve the roadmap for security engineering, driving improvements in the overall security posture.
• Champion secure-by-design, working directly with engineering teams to integrate security early in development.
• Oversee incident readiness and response, ensuring the business can effectively manage and learn from security events.
• Drive initiatives across emerging technology and supply chain security - from software dependencies to AI-related risks.

What You Bring

• 5+ years’ security engineering experience.
• Hands-on expertise in Security operations / detection engineering, or application/product security.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers and helping others grow.
• Ideally experience in a scale-up, start-up, or product-led tech company.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and modern engineering practices (GCP preferred, or AWS).
• Excellent communicator - able to influence, educate, and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

📍 Location: Sydney (relocation support available) - Hybrid working flexibility.
