About Our Client
Our client in the event and hospitality sector is building an innovative platform that leverages AI and modern technology to solve major pain points in the industry. With a product launch scheduled for December 2025, they're assembling a talented team to bring their vision to market.
About This Role
As the DevOps Engineer, you'll own the production infrastructure for a multi-product platform serving four distinct user types. With a December launch approaching, you'll be responsible for ensuring reliability, performance, and security as the platform scales from beta to thousands of users. This is an opportunity to build infrastructure and operational excellence from the ground up, working with modern serverless technologies and establishing DevOps practices that will support rapid growth through 2026.

- Salary Range: ₦300,000 - ₦450,000 per month
- Start date - Nov 10th
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment
- Configure and optimize Supabase Edge Functions running Hono web server on Deno runtime
- Manage production, staging, and development environments with proper isolation and security
- Deploy and optimize React/TypeScript frontend applications with CDN and caching strategies
- Optimize PostgreSQL database performance through query analysis, indexing, and connection pooling
- Manage database migrations, automated backups, and disaster recovery procedures
- Configure Supabase Storage buckets for file uploads with proper access controls
- Establish comprehensive monitoring and alerting for application performance, uptime, and errors
- Implement logging aggregation for Edge Functions, database queries, and frontend errors
- Set up performance monitoring for API endpoints and database queries
- Define and track SLA/SLO metrics for each of the four product lines
- Implement security best practices for Supabase Auth, API keys, and service roles
- Manage secrets and environment variables across all environments
- Configure Row Level Security policies and database permissions
- Implement rate limiting, DDoS protection, and API abuse prevention
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs with budget alerts
- Implement autoscaling strategies to balance performance and cost
- Build incident response procedures and on-call rotation schedules
- Create documentation for deployment procedures, troubleshooting, and infrastructure access
- Support December production launch with zero-downtime deployment strategies
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of DevOps/Infrastructure engineering experience in production environments
- Strong PostgreSQL database administration, optimization, and scaling experience
- Proficiency with Supabase platform (Auth, Database, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime)
- Experience with serverless architectures and edge computing platforms
- CI/CD pipeline expertise using GitHub Actions or similar tools
- Monitoring and observability tools experience (Datadog, Sentry, Grafana, New Relic, or similar)
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or TypeScript for automation
- DNS management, SSL/TLS certificates, and CDN configuration experience
- Understanding of infrastructure as code principles
- Proven track record managing production deployments with minimal downtime
- Experience with incident management and post-mortem processes
- Strong understanding of application performance monitoring and optimization
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Excellent written communication for documentation and incident reports
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
- Reliable internet connection and conducive home office setup
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Deno runtime and modern edge computing platforms
- Background in early-stage startups with rapid growth trajectories
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and real-time systems
- Experience with payment processing infrastructure (Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave)
- Knowledge of A/B testing infrastructure and feature flag systems
- Experience deploying and scaling SaaS applications serving 10,000+ users
- Understanding of data pipeline and ETL tools for analytics
- Previous experience in event tech, marketplace platforms, or multi-sided platforms
- Familiarity with accessibility and GDPR/CCPA compliance requirements
- Experience with email delivery services (SendGrid, Mailgun) and SMS providers
