CAD Designer - Outdoor Gas Appliances and Fire Features

Our client, a long-established manufacturer of outdoor gas appliances, fire features, and accessories, is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer to join their growing team. With over 40 years of proven success, this organization is known for combining craftsmanship, innovation, and quality in every product it designs and builds.

As a CAD Designer, you'll support engineering and product development efforts by creating technical drawings, 3D models, and accurate documentation for standard and custom parts. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and renderings using CAD software
• Develop and assign part numbers in accordance with company standards
• Build and maintain accurate bills of materials for new and existing products
• Produce custom drawings based on customer specifications, design requests, or project requirements
• Update drawings and documentation when engineering changes occur
• Collaborate with engineering, production, sales, and procurement teams to ensure documentation accuracy
• Verify drawing details for manufacturability and quality requirements
• Assist with file organization, document control, and revision tracking
• Support prototype or custom project development with timely technical outputs

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Alibre
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Experience creating BOMs and working with ERP/MRP systems (SAGE ERP experience a plus)
