Job Description
We are seeking a VDI Specialist to design, implement, and support enterprise-level virtual desktop environments leveraging VMware Horizon View (Omnissa) and vSphere. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in end-user computing (EUC), image management, performance optimization, and integration with modern collaboration tools such as Microsoft O365, OneDrive, and Slack.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage VDI environments using VMware Horizon View and vSphere.
- Configure and administer App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), and User Environment Management (UEM).
- Optimize Microsoft O365, OneDrive, and Slack integrations within the VDI ecosystem.
- Build, patch, and tune Windows 11 images for large-scale virtual desktop deployments.
- Develop and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs), security baselines, and compliance settings.
- Troubleshoot EUC performance issues, ensuring stability and consistent end-user experience.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams for scalability and reliability.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions for VDI performance and capacity.
- Maintain documentation and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6–10 years of IT experience, including 4+ years in VDI/EUC technologies.
- Hands-on expertise with VMware Horizon View (Omnissa) and vSphere.
- Proficiency with App Volumes, DEM, and User Persona Management.
- Strong understanding of Windows 11 architecture, GPOs, and system optimization.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and certificate management.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across virtualized desktop environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – Desktop and Mobility (or equivalent).
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS Workspaces, or Horizon Cloud.
- Exposure to financial services or other regulated environments.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell for automation and system management.
