Job Description
Engineering Product Manager – Simulation Hardware
Overview
We are hiring an Engineering-focused Product Manager who comes from a technical engineering discipline and loves building physical products — not just software roadmaps. This role drives full lifecycle hardware development within simulation (concept → spec → engineering → validation → launch), working directly with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and manufacturing engineering teams.
This Product Manager will have immediate visibility and impact — the company is preparing to launch multiple new hardware products this coming quarter.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering product strategy and requirements for new medical simulation hardware and accessories — quarterly release cadence.
- Translate customer + clinician need → technical engineering specification.
- Partner with Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Clinical, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams throughout EVT/DVT/V&V phases.
- Conduct competitive analysis, user research, and prototype evaluations to validate direction.
- Ensure products meet regulatory + quality requirements (FDA, IEC/ISO, safety certifications, testing protocols).
- Develop pricing strategy, product positioning, and commercial launch plans.
- Track adoption, NPS, user outcomes and ROI using analytics and feedback loops.
- Oversee legacy product lifecycle, retirement planning, and continuous improvement updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Biomedical Engineering (required — we are unable to consider non-engineering degrees for this role).
- 2–5 years in product management / product development within medical devices, healthcare technology, or other regulated hardware.
- Experience supporting physical product builds, engineering design reviews, prototypes, and validation cycles.
- Comfortable working hands-on with engineers, test equipment, prototypes, hardware builds.
- Familiarity with Agile development tools (Jira, Asana, Confluence etc.) and structured requirements documentation.
- Proven track record launching or scaling physical products in market.
Additional Requirements
- Domestic travel up to 20% quarterly.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs occasionally (trade shows, demos, hardware handling).
- Able to collaborate with global teams — engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and regulatory partners.
Relocation Requirement: This role requires relocation to the Sarasota/Bradenton area. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate.
