Drisit is building the future of remote drone operations. Our platform enables pilots to fly drones from anywhere in the world, combining real-time video streaming, geofencing, AI-assisted control, and mission automation into a single, seamless experience.
We’re a fast-moving startup working at the intersection of drones, live data, and immersive technology. As our first Android Developer, you’ll help shape the core mobile experience that brings remote piloting to life.
💡 Role Overview
We’re looking for a Mid-level Android Developer with a strong foundation in native Android (Kotlin/Java) and a passion for building intuitive, reliable, and beautiful user experiences.
You’ll take ownership of our mobile app development, collaborate with our design and backend teams, and contribute ideas that shape how remote pilots interact with the Drisit platform.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain native Android features for the Drisit mobile app.
- Collaborate with design and product teams to build smooth and responsive UI/UX experiences.
- Participate in technical design discussions, bringing thoughtful, user-focused ideas.
- Integrate APIs and SDKs for drone control, telemetry, and video streaming.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Work closely with the backend team (Node.js / Python) and web team (React / TypeScript) on shared components and API integration.
- Contribute to architectural decisions as the first mobile developer in the team.
🧰 Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional experience in Android development (Kotlin / Java).
- Strong understanding of Android UI/UX principles and modern Android frameworks (Jetpack, Compose desirable).
- Experience integrating REST APIs and handling real-time data.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and agile development.
- Intermediate level of English (reading, writing, and team communication).
- Proactive mindset and ability to work independently in a remote, startup environment.
⭐ Nice to Have
- Experience with Flutter or cross-platform development.
- Familiarity with WebRTC, MQTT, or Drone SDKs (DJI, Ardupilot, PX4).
- Exposure to React, TypeScript, or Node.js projects.
- Understanding of real-time streaming or low-latency communication systems.
🌎 What We Offer
- 100% remote work.
- Flexible hours and autonomy.
- Payment in USD.
- The opportunity to become the first Android developer in a startup shaping the future of remote flight.
- Direct collaboration with the product and architecture leadership team.
