Location: Ventura, CA.
Type of Position: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt.
Compensation:
Base Hourly Rate: $36.82 (non-prevailing wage work).
SCA Base Rate: $36.82 (Applies to SCA Taskings).
Health and Welfare EO 13706: $5.09 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, or $203.60 per week, or $882.27 per month.
Cell Allowance: $75.00 monthly.
About the Role
We are currently hiring a Telecommunications Site Lead to be on-site and oversee several telecommunications projects (ISP, OSP, & Wireless) for two U.S. Naval locations (Point Mugu and Port Hueneme) in Ventura County. In this role, you will be responsible to receive and schedule projects, manage technicians, deliverables, inventory, and work with administrative staff and project managers on updates for two Naval military bases.
Applicant must be in a commutable location to Ventura, CA. This role will be 100% onsite. Local candidates preferred and relocation assistance will not be offered for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive work order, plan, and schedule accordingly with the customer.
- Put together necessary paperwork/folder for field technicians.
- Gather combine and submit job deliverables within 48 hours of completion, which includes material allocation.
- Ensure the field technicians have everything necessary to complete their job in the field.
- Communicate and work with Client personnel.
- Work one on one with regional infrastructure managers to resolve access issues, delays, surveys, and question that either government personnel or site leads may have regarding a specific job.
- Promote a sense of urgency with his team.
- Ensure team makes SLA's, SLR's and estimated completion of work time frames.
- Communicate with administrative staff, project managers and other personnel on job delay, issues, completion, and deliverables.
- Responsible for ordering, distributing, and maintaining material that fall under their bases.
- Responsible for vehicle Inspection reports on all vehicles that fall under their bases or personnel of responsibility.
- Responsible for weekly/monthly safety meetings with the team.
- Responsible for submitting team weekly timesheet on time.
- Moving, lifting, and climbing ladders while using tools, test equipment and moving cable reels.
- Installing, rearranging, and maintaining inside wiring infrastructure to include all level of wire and fiber.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must have thorough understanding of structured cable systems, associated termination equipment, test equipment, industry testing standards and industry approved test procedures.
- Understand fiber optic splicing techniques and be able to attach connectors to fiber optic cable and splice inside and outside fiber cables.
- Be able to perform test procedures on fiber and copper cable, analyze test results, and certify results to industry standards.
- Be technically competent to problem-solve cable systems not meeting industry standard test results and provide remediation recommendations.
- Must follow established safety practices and guidelines.
- Must be familiar with all NEC Grounding practices.
- Must understand requirement of EIA/TIA 568 A & B.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Must be flexible and able to work from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Must be punctual and available to travel when necessary.
- Successful candidates will be subject to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Successful candidates will be subject to complete and maintain a favorable Tier 3 (NACLC & ANACI) Government Secret Security Clearance and to include a favorable Tier 1 (formerly known as a National Agency Check Inquiries (NACI) background check and associative suitability. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to maintain and Active Secret Clearance.
- Successful candidates will be subject to complete and maintain a successful completion of drug screen and MVR.
- Must have the ability to possess excellent communication skills and the ability to write, speak and communicate fluent English.
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist, crawl and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
- Must possess manual dexterity in hands, fingers, and arms to effectively operate power tools, controls, and specialized equipment.
- May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
- When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel toed boots.
- Must meet specific vision requirements, including:
- Close vision
- Color vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to safely climb ladders, scaffolding, or work from aerial lifts.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform work on uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly as part of daily job duties.
- Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
- Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
