HR Generalist

We’re looking for an HR Generalist to help our rapidly growing company hire great people, maintain key processes, and ensure our team has easy access to resources they need.  You’ll lead onboarding, records retention, and headcount forecasting and work closely with managers and leadership team on key projects like annual reviews, policy updates, and training efforts.

This is a 100% remote role, open to candidates in the US or Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Streamline processes: Create and maintain efficient onboarding and offboarding workflows, including account access, device allocation, and required training.
• Support onboarding: Develop onboarding plans to educate new employees on company policies, systems, and culture.
• Recruit top talent: Build and execute recruitment plans based on operational need, including writing job descriptions, posting roles on job boards, and screening resumes for alignment with requirements and culture.
• Manage benefits: Serve as the primary administrator and point of contact for payroll, healthcare, 401(k), and other employee benefits.
• Maintain documentation: Prepare and manage official internal documents such as offer letters, performance improvement plans, and termination notices.
• Collaborate across teams: Work with leadership, management, and employees to design elegant processes that function well for people while maintaining high standards.
• Lead performance management coordination: Partner with leadership to organize and execute annual and mid-year performance reviews. Support a culture of feedback and growth, and guide managers with performance improvement plans when needed.

Basic qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, or similar degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and analytical with excellent organizational skills.
• Highly knowledgeable about US employment laws and common HR practices.
• Tech savvy with high proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, HRM software, and information security tools.
• Motivated and driven to be truly helpful to the people around you, and to strive for precision and excellence in both day-to-day work and larger strategic projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating and managing processes for a fast-growing company where things are rapidly changing.
• Strong creative thinking and problem solving skills.
• A bias towards simplicity that helps you build processes that cover the necessary requirements while being lightweight.
• Experience working for companies that have employees and contractors in other countries.
• Strong cross-cultural understanding and communication.
• Experience with general information security processes and data retention regulations like CCPA, GDPR, etc.
• A desire to grow, improve, and learn while helping others.
• Experience using payroll, HRM, document signature, knowledge base, and information security training systems like ADP, Ramp, Keka, Scrut, Confluence, etc.
