Role Overview

We’re building a cutting-edge AI and Data capability in Cape Town and are looking for a curious, driven graduate to join our growing team. As a Graduate AI & Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll help design, train, and improve machine learning models that power real-world business solutions.

You’ll work with experienced engineers and data scientists to build intelligent systems, explore new AI tools, and turn data into insights that shape smarter decisions for our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your technical career in one of the fastest-moving areas of technology.

Location: This is a hybrid role based in Cape Town. 3-4 days in the office 8-5pm. If you’re applying from another location, please be aware relocation to Cape Town will be required and would need to be arranged personally.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing AI and ML models.
• Work with large data sets to analyse, clean, and prepare data for modelling.
• Support deployment and monitoring of AI solutions in production environments.
• Help evaluate and compare model performance and accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and consultants on client projects.
• Stay curious — learn new tools, technologies, and frameworks that keep us at the forefront of AI innovation.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a graduate or early-career professional who has a strong technical foundation and is eager to learn. You might have studied one of the following:

🎓 Degrees from South African universities such as Wits, UCT, Stellenbosch, UP, UKZN, NWU, UWC, or Rhodes:

• BSc / BEng Computer Science
• BSc / BEng Data Science
• BSc / BEng Applied Mathematics
• BSc / BEng Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• BSc Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
• BSc Statistics or Mathematical Statistics

Skills & Mindset

• Solid understanding of programming (Python, R, or C#).
• Project experience in machine learning, data modelling, or AI research.
• Exposure to cloud tools such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS is a plus.
• A self-starter who leans in, learns fast, always a step ahead of a problem and loves delivering impact for clients.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Enthusiasm for learning and experimenting with new ideas.
