About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Tester with strong hands-on experience in K6, Playwright, and API- and browser-based performance testing. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of observability tools, JavaScript/TypeScript scripting, and cloud monitoring platforms. You will be responsible for driving performance testing initiatives, integrating tests within CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring system reliability under various workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance testing using K6 for APIs and browser-based applications.
• Develop and maintain UI automation scripts using Playwright or similar frameworks.
• Analyze system behavior under load, stress, spike, and soak testing conditions.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA teams to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Monitor and analyze system performance using observability and APM tools such as Grafana, New Relic, Prometheus, or Datadog.
• Work with cloud monitoring platforms (AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP Operations).
• Document test strategies, performance reports, and improvement recommendations.

Required Skills & Expertise

Performance Testing Tools: K6, k6/experimental/browser, API performance testing, browser-based performance testing

UI Automation: Playwright (preferred), Selenium, or Cypress

Testing Methodologies: Load, Stress, Spike, Soak, and Baseline Testing

Scripting & Programming: JavaScript, TypeScript, and modular scripting practices

Observability & Monitoring: New Relic, Open Telemetry, APM tools, performance metrics analysis

Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP

CI/CD Integration: Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK Stack for performance analytics
• Certification in Performance Testing or ISTQB
• Strong collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a global, distributed team environment

Interview & Assessment Process

• Technical Round: Walkthrough of a K6 script explaining load simulation.
• Scenario-Based Discussion: Identify and resolve a performance bottleneck case.
• Code Review: Playwright test or a short JavaScript/TypeScript coding exercise.
• Tool Integration Discussion: Explain CI/CD and observability integrations.
