Operations Support Services Engineer

• 
  Attend promptly to ad-hoc breakdowns and maintenance of systems at local and remote sites.
• 
  Coordinate and supervise contractors during troubleshooting and repair works in accordance with established maintenance procedures.
• 
  Perform Duty Technical Officer (DTO) duties at assigned operation centres on a shift basis.
• 
  Check maintenance checklists and review service reports to ensure proper system upkeep.
• 
  Manage maintenance and term contracts (MCs and TCs), including preparing technical specifications, planning preventive maintenance schedules, and monitoring expenditures.
• 
  Attend site meetings, conduct site surveys, and perform spot checks on maintenance works.
• 
  Coordinate with internal departments and external organizations for maintenance arrangements and scheduling.
• 
  Procure spare parts, test equipment, and tools for maintenance, including sourcing quotations and engaging contractors.
• 
  Maintain updated records and documentation of all systems, including system failure data and maintenance logs.
• 
  Track and analyze system performance metrics such as uptime, availability, and outage trends.
  
  

• 
  Assist in system engineering works, including feasibility studies, proof-of-concept, system design, life-cycle analysis, and design review.
• 
  Support project management and coordination activities for system implementation or upgrades.
• 
  Supervise on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of systems and equipment.
• 
  Participate in studies for system upgrades, replacements, and performance improvements.
  
  

• 
  Respond to ad-hoc user requests for installation, relocation, re-wiring, or modification of systems and equipment.
• 
  Be on standby for urgent jobs on a 24-hour basis, including weekends and public holidays, to ensure system uptime and high availability.
• 
  Perform additional duties as delegated by management, in compliance with the Employment Act.
• 
  Maintain documentation related to system compliance requirements (e.g., cybersecurity standards, system availability).
  
  

• 
  Supervise Technical Officers (TOs) to ensure assigned deployments are completed effectively and safely.
• 
  Submit all required reports to management in a timely manner.
• 
  Proactively monitor maintenance works and system failures, ensuring compliance with maintenance clauses.
• 
  Plan daily manpower schedules and manage leave approvals for TOs.
• 
  Report absences and arrange for replacement manpower as necessary.
• 
  Report safety, integrity, and operational incidents promptly.
• 
  Prepare and maintain the monthly duty roster, updating changes as required.
• 
  Oversee daily shift handover at the main operation centre.
• 
  Conduct regular checks on TOs' job scopes and performance.
• 
  Cover the duties of the DTO and other TOs when required

Job Requirements:

• 
  Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Systems Engineering.
• 
  Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in managing engineering systems.
• 
  Knowledge of marine electronics, command & control, or communications systems is a plus.
• 
  Good system engineering, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• 
  Proven leadership and hands-on maintenance experience.
• 
  Able to perform shift or standby duties and travel when required.
