Senior Transformation Consulting Architect

As a Transformation Staff Consulting Architect, you acquire intimate knowledge of the customers’ business, its strategic goals and the specific requirements of our largest enterprise and global projects. You will be demonstrating the technical abilities of the consulting team you lead and drive a solution that assists the customer in achieving their business goals and outcomes. You are a solution level subject matter expert with broad knowledge across the VMware technology stack and of 3rd party integrated products. In addition to customer facing delivery, Staff Consulting Architects also provide key input to pre-sales on complex multi-discipline bids and drive best practices.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

You will lead one or more project teams in the implementation of Client's largest enterprise and global customers, working closely with program management and technical architects in providing oversight and accountability for the project. Your customer(s) will come to see you as a trusted advisor for most strategic IT decisions around aligning IT strategy to business strategy, developing transition plans to enable the needed and desired business outcomes, defining the architecture and technology supporting those outcomes, and developing and executing the transition roadmaps and plans to achieve the objectives.

Your colleagues will rely on you for your expertise and thought leadership in enabling our customers to achieve their business outcomes using VMware technology and modern IT management principles, such as multi-/hybrid-cloud architectures, best-in-class employee experience or modern application development practices, such as continuous integration and deployment.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Transformation Staff Consulting Architects take ownership of project business outcomes, lead technical project teams, and have accountability for all project deliverables. Building effective relationships with customer C-level and VP executives allows the architects to define and present a transformational journey to the customer stakeholders and strategically plan with sales, pre-sales, and the customers to build out delivery roadmaps. The architect confidently defines use case requirements for those roadmaps, while also functioning as a resource for best practices and ultimately driving adoption of VMware solutions. The solutions and services being delivered must be fit for purpose, referencing the initial business goals and objectives of the projects through strong project governance.

The experience gained on these projects is used to become a trusted advisor as well as an industry thought leader, who visions new services, develops service sales and delivery materials, and leads the necessary knowledge transfer to enable VMware delivery teams to execute.

They are expected to guide project teams through execution while keeping the customer needs and requirements in mind, ultimately tying technical solutions to business outcomes. Their experience in having gone through similar transitions is crucial in providing valuable guidance to customer transition teams, increasing the transition chances of success.

Where is this role located?

Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable. You will be expected to live within 0-4 time zones of the primary location.
