Backend Node.js Developer

Productiv is a fast-growing US based multinational information technology services company, and we are seeking a Backend Node.js Developer to join the team.

We are actively seeking a skilled Back-end Developer with expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS to design and implement secure and scalable APIs and services. Your experience will play a crucial role in driving our projects forward.

This is a long term contract role and can be an hourly or monthly fixed-price contract. You will be working remotely with US based team members and clients. We would want some flexibility with hours, so a typical day would end at 7pm local time.

About the Role

We are seeking a Back-end Developer experienced in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS to design and implement secure, scalable APIs and services. You will work closely with frontend teams, DevOps engineers, and product owners to build high-performance server-side applications and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and the NestJS framework.

• Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data migrations.

• Build and integrate REST and SOAP APIs for internal and external services.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver scalable solutions.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on reliability and performance.

• Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and production issues.

• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and CI/CD pipeline improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Hands-on experience with NestJS or similar frameworks (e.g., Express, Koa).

• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and query tuning.

• Proven experience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs.

• Familiarity with Git, Agile/Scrum workflows, and code review processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Supertest).

• Experience with performance monitoring and logging tools

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on time.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
