Software Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a pragmatic, product-focused Full-Stack Engineer who can own features end-to-end: backend services in C# and Python, databases (MongoDB, Supabase), cloud infra on AWS, polished front-end UIs using Tailwind CSS, and mobile apps built with React Native or Flutter. You’ll also prototype and ship features using AI/no-code and low-code tools (Lovable, Bubble, Draftbit and similar platforms), and integrate third-party services (payment gateways like Flutterwave, Stripe, etc.).

You’ll be part of a small, fast-moving team that values reliability, clear design, and developer craftsmanship.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, test and maintain backend services and APIs using C# (.NET Core) and Python.
• Architect and operate data stores using MongoDB and Supabase (auth + hosted Postgres), and design schemas for scale and speed.
• Deploy, monitor and secure services on AWS (Lambda / ECS / EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM — or equivalent).
• Build responsive front-end interfaces using Tailwind CSS and modern JS frameworks (React / Next.js patterns where applicable).
• Build and maintain mobile applications using React Native or Flutter; implement native modules where required.
• Prototype, iterate and ship features using AI-assisted/no-code and low-code tools (examples: Lovable, Bubble, Draftbit) to accelerate delivery and validate product ideas.
• Integrate external services and payment gateways (e.g., Flutterwave, Stripe) and manage webhooks, retries and reconciliation logic.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated tests (unit/integration), and observability (metrics, tracing, alerts).
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, QA and operations to deliver high-quality releases.

Must-have (required)

• 3+ years professional experience building production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in C# / .NET Core and Python (service design, async processing, REST/GraphQL APIs).
• Practical experience with MongoDB and working knowledge of Supabase (auth, Postgres).
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating services on AWS.
• Front-end experience using Tailwind CSS and modern HTML/CSS practices.
• Mobile app development experience with React Native or Flutter (at least one).
• Practical experience using no-code / low-code / AI-assisted builders (Lovable, Bubble, Draftbit or similar) to prototype or ship features.
• Comfortable integrating third-party APIs (payment processors, identity providers, analytics).
• Good command of software engineering fundamentals: testing, CI/CD, observability, and security best practices.
• Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have (preferred)

• Experience building or integrating conversational or generative AI features (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar).
• Prior work connecting Supabase auth and Postgres to serverless/backends in production.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS / Kubernetes).
• Experience with message queues / background job systems (SQS, RabbitMQ, Celery, Hangfire).
• Previous startup or product-led engineering experience.
• Knowledge of payment flows and compliance (PCI considerations) when integrating gateways like Flutterwave/Stripe.
• Contributions to open source, published apps, or a strong portfolio of shipped projects.
