About the Opportunity...

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help modernise ELMO’s user experience. You’ll work in a cross-functional squad, contribute to our micro-frontend architecture and design system, and build fast, accessible, and scalable interfaces that make a real impact.

What You’ll Do…

• Collaborate within a cross-functional product team to deliver impactful solutions
• Write performant, accessible, and scalable code
• Contribute to our modern micro-frontend architecture and the ELMO Design System, ensuring consistent visuals and behavior across products
• Balance technical execution with strong teamwork and collaboration
• Build and maintain large-scale frontend applications using TypeScript, React, and related tools like Nx monorepos, module federation, and Rspack/Webpack
• Ensure compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Level AA
• Work closely with designers and backend engineers to define API contracts, data flows, and interaction models
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code with solid unit and integration test coverage
• Participate in peer reviews, architecture discussions, and design sessions
• Monitor, debug, and optimize frontend performance in production using observability tools
• Continuously enhance developer experience by improving build pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and local development environments
• Mentor mid-level engineers by providing guidance, feedback, and pairing support
• Stay updated on emerging frontend practices—progressive rendering, bundling strategies, Web Vitals, platform optimizations—and promote their adoption
• Utilize AI tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor to boost productivity and streamline development

What we would like to see you bring to the team...

• 5 + years professional experience in frontend development with modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Advanced knowledge of React, React Query/TanStack Query, and state management patterns (context, Zustand, Redux, etc.).
• Proven experience in monorepo or micro-frontend environments (e.g. Nx, Turborepo, Module Federation).
• Understanding of component-driven design, atomic UI principles, and design system governance.
• Familiarity with automated testing (Jest, Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress) and CI/CD workflows.
• Comfort with REST and GraphQL APIs, API contracts, and schema validation.
• Working knowledge of web performance metrics, browser profiling, and runtime optimisation.
• Strong grasp of a11y, security best practices (OWASP Top 10), and privacy considerations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within distributed teams.
