You can look forward to
Installation, maintenance and support of the Hannover Re Group's Linux server infrastructure (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
Monitoring and optimisation of environments (e.g. Zabbix, Red Hat Satellite) and development of cookbooks for automation with version control (e.g. Chef Automate, git, Gerrit, Jenkins)
Automated hardening of servers based on current security standards (e.g. CIS benchmarks) and security monitoring (e.g. QualysGuard)
Close collaboration with other teams to further develop the virtual Linux infrastructure architecture (e.g. cloud teams for Azure and Amazon, architects, network and security)
Incident, problem and change management: processing enquiries and fault reports and documenting them in the ticket system
You come equipped with
Several years of professional experience with the administration of complex Linux server environments in virtualised environments
Degree in (business) informatics or comparable training with professional experience
Knowledge in the areas of automation (e.g. Chef Automate, Ansible, Puppet) and scripting (e.g. Bash, Ruby)
Basic knowledge of VMware virtualisation and cloud infrastructures, as well as server security and hardening
German and English at a business fluent level
Strong analytical skills and creativity in finding solutions, as well as organisational and coordination skills with a structured and transparent way of working
