Role : AI Tutor – Video Game Specialist (Remote or On-site, Palo Alto, CA)
We are hiring for one of our prime clients, a leading AI research organization, seeking experienced professionals in video game design, development, and analysis. This full-time role allows creative game designers and developers to help train AI systems capable of understanding, generating, and improving interactive gaming experiences.
As an AI Tutor – Video Game Specialist, you will provide detailed annotations, feedback, and evaluations to ensure AI-generated games are engaging, balanced, and innovative. Your expertise will directly shape how AI understands game mechanics, storytelling, and player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Use proprietary tools to label, annotate, and evaluate game data, including mechanics, storylines, and design elements.
- Provide high-quality feedback on gameplay, creativity, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design annotation workflows that enhance AI game generation.
- Analyze and critique AI-generated games for functionality, balance, and innovation.
- Reference industry trends, tools, and best practices for accurate annotations.
- Test and iterate AI-generated content to improve model understanding of player engagement.
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, or related field.
- Proven experience in game design or development, preferably in indie game projects, supported by a strong portfolio.
- Ability to evaluate game quality, gameplay, storytelling, and mechanics.
- Experience in playtesting or iterating on game prototypes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong analytical and creative judgment.
- Passion for AI applications in game design and interactive entertainment.
Preferred Background
- Experience in AI-assisted game development or playtesting.
- Extensive gaming experience and familiarity with diverse genres, platforms, and player communities.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Location: Palo Alto, CA (on-site, five days/week) or fully remote with strong self-management.
- Schedule: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM PST for initial training, then aligned with local timezone.
- Technical Requirements: Chromebook, macOS 11+, or Windows 10+ device; reliable smartphone access.
- Eligibility: U.S. applicants must reside outside Wyoming and Illinois.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range (U.S.): $90,000 – $200,000 annually (based on experience and location).
