About the position:

For our client, a leading player in the healthcare sector based in the Netherlands, we are looking for a driven DevOps Engineer with knowledge of Python. This position requires relocation to the Netherlands! We specialize in assisting South Africans with their relocation to the Netherlands and have successfully done this approximately 80 times.

Our client is working on groundbreaking projects that are transforming the way healthcare institutions use and analyze data. You will be part of a dynamic team of technical specialists and data scientists who together create innovative solutions for the healthcare sector.

What will you do as a DevOps Engineer:

In this role, you will be the driving force behind our client’s data infrastructure. You will be responsible for setting up AWS services using CloudFormation templates, deploying new solutions, monitoring and optimizing data pipelines, databases, and data applications, and streamlining backup processes.

Specifically, you will be involved in:

• Setting up AWS services with CloudFormation templates.
• Deploying new solutions.
• Monitoring and optimizing data pipelines, databases, and data applications.
• Streamlining backup processes.
• Collaborating on key projects such as migrating from PostgreSQL to Snowflake and developing a data science portal.

What you bring:

• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation).
• Good knowledge of Python and proficiency in SQL. Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Snowflake is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD techniques such as GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy is an advantage.
• A proactive and initiative-taking attitude and the willingness to learn and try new things.
• Strong communication skills
• Important: you speak Afrikaans at a very good level
