Benefits Compliance Analyst

Pareto is looking for experienced Benefits Compliance Analysts to collaborate on creating high-fidelity computer-use exercises that capture real HR & People Ops workflows—complete with starting context, step-by-step actions, decision points, and final deliverables.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MODEL ELIGIBILITY RULES: Script OE blackout and QA checklists; write scenarios for dependent verification, COBRA, and retro corrections.

GENERATE SAMPLE CASES: Produce EDI 834 variance cases with documented audit steps and acceptance criteria.

DEVELOP EXERCISES: Build 5–7 exercises on OE mapping, mid-year life events, and ACA 1095-C coding.

DELIVER RECONCILIATION TOOLS: Provide scripts/templates for carrier invoices vs. HRIS enrollments.

BUILD DECISION RUBRICS: Create decision tree rubrics for complex life events and evidence requirements.

PROVIDE DATASETS: Prepare datasets with redacted plan designs and rate tables.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of professional experience in HR & People Ops, specifically in Payroll & Benefits Administration.

English fluency (native or near-native proficiency required).

Strong technical aptitude with proficiency in Workday Benefits, Benefitfocus, and Microsoft Excel.

Exceptional written communication—ability to transform implicit expertise into explicit, reproducible instructions.

Experience with ACA/ERISA compliance and related regulatory frameworks.

TIME COMMITMENT

Calibration: Paid 1-hour trial within first week of acceptance.

Pilot: 1-week paid pilot; successful completion leads to a 2-month contract with potential extension or full-time opportunities.

Ongoing target: At least ~10–20 hours/week during pilot; full contract in case of project success.

Top performers may be invited to potential future AI Training projects.

COMPENSATION & CONTRACT

Hourly rate: $70-95/hr

Employment type: At-will contractor to Pareto

Geographic flexibility: Remote work from anywhere; compensation adjusted by location while maintaining competitiveness
