Job Title: z/OS System Engineer

Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract (1 Year, Possibility of Extension)

Location: Fully Remote

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced z/OS System Programming Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize the operating environment supporting enterprise z-platform infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability to meet dynamic business demands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain z/OS operating environments
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Troubleshoot complex production issues under pressure
• Install and configure z/OS and ISV software
• Manage hardware configurations using HCD
• Support weekend operations and participate in on-call rotations

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in z/OS system programming
• Deep understanding of z/OS internals and catalog management
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Proficiency in USS/OMVS and REXX programming
• Experience with software installation and system testing
• Familiarity with HCD and hardware configuration
• Exposure to modern z/OS technologies: zOSMF, REST APIs, Kafka, Ansible, Python (preferred)
• Assembler knowledge for usermod maintenance and dump analysis (desirable but not mandatory)
