Job Description: IT Tech Lead (Remote – Vietnam)

Salary: USD 6k-10k 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive IT Tech Lead to join our fully remote, global team. In this role you will lead a technical engineering team, drive architecture and implementation of software systems, and work closely with product, design, and operations teams across time zones. While you will be based in Vietnam, you will be operating in a globally distributed environment with high standards and strong collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of engineers (developers, QA, DevOps) based remotely: set technical direction, review code/design, mentor team members, and help ensure high productivity and quality.

Architect, design and implement scalable, maintainable software systems, microservices or platform components.

Translate business requirements into technical design and deliverables; ensure alignment between business priorities and engineering execution.

Drive engineering best practices: code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, metrics, performance tuning, incident management.

Collaborate with product management, UX/design, operations, and other stakeholders to define roadmaps, set priorities and timelines.

Make key technical decisions around architecture, infrastructure, tooling, frameworks and cloud services (for example AWS, GCP, Azure).

Monitor and continually improve system reliability, security, scalability and performance.

Own the technical roadmap: manage tech debt, drive refactoring or modernization when needed, lead migrations or integrations.

Manage technical risks and dependencies, ensure timely delivery of projects meeting scope, time and budget expectations.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, learning and collaboration within the engineering team.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Minimum 3‑5 years of experience as a Tech Lead (i.e., leadership of engineering team, not just senior engineer).

Strong programming experience (e.g. PHP, Java, C#, Node.js, Python, Go) and solid understanding of software architecture, microservices, APIs.

Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure/DevOps tooling (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).

Proven leadership and mentoring capability in a distributed/remote engineering environment.

Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and architectural design skills.

Strong English communication skills (spoken and written), capable of working with global teams, writing technical documentation, explaining trade‑offs.

Demonstrated track record of delivering production software and driving engineering quality (code quality, testing, monitoring, release practices).

Experience working in remote/distributed teams is a big plus.

Self‑motivated, takes ownership, and thrives in a fast‑changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in SaaS product engineering or large‑scale, high‑traffic systems.

Prior full‑lifecycle product development (from requirements, design, development to launch and maintenance).

Familiarity with data pipelines, real‑time systems, machine learning infrastructure (optional).

Comfortable working with Agile/Scrum or Kanban development methodologies.

Experience coordinating or managing outsourced/offshore teams or vendors.
