About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior SOC Security Engineer to join our client’s Security Operations Center (SOC) team within a leading organization in the cybersecurity industry. This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on advancing threat detection, incident response, and SOC automation. You’ll lead efforts to strengthen the SOC’s security posture, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to continuous improvement across detection and response technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize SOC monitoring and incident response capabilities across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Lead configuration and tuning of SIEM (e.g., Sumo Logic), EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
• Develop and maintain advanced incident response playbooks and processes aligned with NIST and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Correlate multi-source security data (network, endpoint, application) for threat detection and triage.
• Act as technical lead during high-severity incidents and coordinate with internal stakeholders for containment and remediation.
• Mentor SOC analysts and junior engineers to build technical and operational excellence.
• Evaluate and recommend new security tools, automation, and detection techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, with emphasis on SOC engineering and incident response.
• Expertise in SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewall technologies.
• Proficiency in threat hunting, threat intelligence, and advanced log analysis.
• Working knowledge of cloud security monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, PowerShell) is a strong plus.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, CEH, OSCP, GIAC) preferred.
