What You’ll Do:

As our Romance Story Development Lead, you’ll drive the creative vision for our romance series, developing outlines for 20-25 books per month and overseeing their execution to ensure outstanding quality. You’ll use narrative tools and AI to craft compelling outlines while leading a team to bring them to life.

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop High-Quality Outlines: Create emotionally driven story outlines for 20–25 romance books monthly, using narrative tools and AI to ensure exceptional pacing, character depth, and alignment with our uplifting vision.
• Ensure Narrative Excellence: Identify and resolve potential pacing issues, plot holes, and character inconsistencies early, maintaining rigorous quality standards in every outline.
• Lead Creative Teams: Manage writers and editors, aligning everyone with the story’s vision and ensuring high-quality storytelling from outline to final draft.
• Oversee Quality Execution: Guide outlines through the production process, ensuring clarity, emotional resonance, and top-tier quality in the resulting manuscripts.
• Bridge Vision and Results: Connect creative vision to execution, using streamlined processes and AI tools to deliver consistent, high-standard narrative outlines.

You’re a passionate storytelling leader who thrives on crafting high-quality romance narrative outlines and guiding teams with empathy. You bring:

• Story Structure Expertise: Proven ability to create character-driven, emotionally impactful romance outlines with strong structure and exceptional quality.
• AI Comfort: Experience (or eagerness to master) using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT or Sudowrite for outline development, idea generation, and quality enhancement—while preserving authentic voice.
• Leadership Experience: Track record of leading creative teams through complex editorial workflows, delivering high-quality projects on time.
• Passion for Uplifting Stories: Deep belief in romance’s power to heal, entertain, and make readers feel seen, with a commitment to delivering top-tier quality.
