Job Title: Automation Engineer (Network Operations)

Location: FULLY REMOTE

Overview

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in automating and optimizing network operations to enhance efficiency and reliability. You will leverage cutting-edge technologies and innovative practices to streamline workflows, improve system performance, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert in network automation, contributing as both a team player and individual contributor.
• Design, develop, test, and document network-focused software applications and automation tools.
• Lead solution design efforts, including data modeling, repository creation, transformation, and analytics.
• Develop and deploy technologies such as RESTful APIs, front-end software tools, and custom integrations into operational systems.
• Act as an escalation point for operational incidents, performing troubleshooting, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and implementation of automation solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying innovative approaches to improve existing systems and processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on network automation.
• Proficiency in Python is required; experience with Java, JavaScript, C#, or GoLang is a plus.
• Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, trace, and debug complex applications.
• Experience using Git, Jira, Jenkins, and continuous integration/build systems with automated testing (unit and end-to-end).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (OSI layers 1–3) and controller-based network architectures.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
