ChompChat is a US-based startup building AI-powered ordering and phone systems for restaurants. We’re already live with paying customers, and our dev team in Indonesia has been key to our success.

The Role

As our Technical Manager, you’ll sit between the founders and the development team. Your job is to:

• Turn high-level product goals into clear technical tasks.
• Give founders visibility into the dev team’s progress and obstacles.
• Coach and mentor developers (mostly recent ITB grads).
• Keep projects on track with lightweight process and test-driven design
• Stay hands-on enough to review code and guide architecture when needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software development experience.
• 1–3 years leading a team or acting as a tech lead.
• Strong communication skills (English + Bahasa).
• Experience with test-driven design/development
• Comfortable managing remote/distributed teams.
• Fluency with Python and REST APIs.

Nice to Have

• Startup or fast-growth company experience.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM technology.
• Experience with system architecture, continuous integration, and dev ops
• Experience with Twilio, Stripe, or restaurant/POS systems.
