The Role: Senior Product Owner

As our Senior Product Owner, you will be the link between vision and execution, making sure our development team builds the right product, in the right way, at the right time. You will own and manage our product backlog for the MVP, ensuring alignment between requirements, design, and development. Working directly with our Chief Product Officer (Build Leader), you’ll translate complex ideas into clear, actionable tasks for our team.

Conditions:

• Location: Remote
• Commitment: Part-time (volunteer, pro bono role)
• Contribution Requirements: minimum 10–15 hours a week; minimum 3 months.
  

Backlog Ownership & Clarity:

• Build, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog for our MVP, ensuring it reflects the product vision and user needs.
• Update and refine backlog items to ensure requirements and design are in sync, leaving no gaps for the development team.
• Write clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that guide design and development.

Team Support:

• Work closely with the Build Team to answer questions, provide context, and remove ambiguity in requirements.
• Collaborate with designers to ensure wireframes and prototypes align with backlog priorities.
• Support developers during sprints with timely feedback and clarifications.

Alignment & Communication:

• Partner directly with the Chief Product Officer to prioritize features and plan releases.
• Communicate progress, priorities, and blockers clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
• Facilitate effective collaboration across teams using our tools and workflows.

Tools & Workflow:

• Use ClickUp to manage backlog, tasks, and sprint planning.
• Communicate and collaborate daily via Slack.
• Coordinate schedules and documentation with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Meet, Docs).
• Leverage ChatGPT to refine user stories, simplify complex requirements, and accelerate product documentation.
  

Detail-Oriented Translators:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role.
• Strong background in backlog management, sprint planning, and agile methodologies.
• Proven ability to translate high-level vision into detailed, actionable stories for design and development.
• Excellent communicator who thrives in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
• Comfortable working in remote-first, fast-paced, and evolving environments.
• Proficient with ClickUp (or similar tools), Slack, Google Workspace, and generative AI tools like ChatGPT.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
• Background in building platforms or marketplaces.
• Familiarity with UX/UI design workflows.
