We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scala Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable backend services using Scala, leveraging both object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate rule-based systems (Drools), manage large-scale data using HDFS, and support enterprise-grade systems with Java EE. Proficiency in SQL and data modeling is also essential for success in this position.

Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Scala
- In-depth understanding of both Object-Oriented Programming and Functional Programming
- Experience with Drools or other rule-based engines
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and big data processing
- Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
- Strong experience with Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) frameworks (e.g., JPA, EJB, Servlets)
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment
Job Duties:
- Design and develop high-performance, scalable applications using Scala on the JVM
- Integrate and maintain Drools rules engine for dynamic business logic
- Work with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) for managing and processing large datasets
- Write clean, reusable, and testable object-oriented and functional code
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and product teams to deliver secure and reliable services
- Utilize SQL for data querying, manipulation, and performance optimization
- Maintain and extend backend services built with Java EE
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and automated testing practices
- Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with big data tools such as Apache Spark, Hive, or Flink
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to performance tuning and JVM optimization
