About the Role:

Based in Alfred Place, London. Working Pattern: Typically 3 days in the office with 2 days at home. Core hours flexible between 8am to 6pm

Cath Kidston focuses on attention to detail, unique styling and using print and colour to bring joy. Design that evokes nostalgia yet practical for everyday life.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Print Designer on a 12 month FTC, to join the Cath Kidston team at Next! You will design across non-clothing, fashion pyjamas, kids, and accessories, in particular for global licences and collaborations. Our Designers here at Next are always looking forward. Looking for that Next thing, focusing on trend and pushing the boundaries of what we can offer our fantastic customer base. Working as a key part of the critical path; creating new and innovative print designs across the Cath Kidston range.

Your role

Designing print collections across various categories: Ensuring that your work aligns with the brand’s aesthetic and market needs.

Produce a variety of print repeats, placements, and colorways tailored to specific markets: Strong hand painting and illustration skills are crucial, along with proficiency in Adobe software, to bring your creative visions to life.

Deep understanding of the brand’s heritage and ethos: Innovate and contemporize designs, ensuring they resonate with both the brand’s identity and customer preferences. You’ll focus on creating elevated print designs that tastefully reflect the brand’s goals.

Briefing suppliers and nurturing strong relationships: Collaborate with the wider team to support the entire design process. This fast-paced environment is ideal for someone with extensive experience in textile and print design, ready to make a significant impact!

About You:

Passion for the Brand: The ideal candidate should have a genuine enthusiasm for the brand and its values, which will shine through in their designs.

Designer-Level Experience: Previous experience at a designer level within a similar brand is crucial. This background will ensure they understand the nuances of print design and brand identity.

Creativity and Collaboration: A creative mindset paired with a collaborative approach will be essential for working effectively with the team and bringing innovative ideas to life.

Print Design Expertise: Experience in a similar style of print design is a must. The candidate should be comfortable creating prints that resonate with both vintage influences and contemporary trends.

Taste and Trend Awareness: A strong sense of taste and a keen eye for detail are important, along with a passion for staying updated on the latest trends in the industry.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively conveying ideas and collaborating with team members and external partners.

Ability to Work Under Pressure: The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality work.
