About UsX-Quick Software is an independent game studio developing Nythe, a dark fantasy first-person shooter set in a haunting, stylized world of decay and mystery. Role OverviewWe’re looking for a Level Designer experienced in Unreal Engine 5 to help shape the environments of Nythe. You’ll be responsible for designing atmospheric, gameplay-rich levels that capture the tone of a world consumed by corruption, blending exploration, combat arenas, and storytelling through environment design.
Responsibilities- Create compelling level layouts, combat spaces, and exploration paths.
- Implement lighting, environmental storytelling, and mood consistent with Nythe’s dark tone.
- Collaborate closely with 3D artists, gameplay designers, and writers to bring levels to life.
- Balance aesthetics and gameplay flow, ensuring each environment feels alive and dangerous.
- Prototype and iterate using Unreal Engine 5 tools and blueprints.
Requirements- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 (level design, world building, lighting, block out).
- Understanding of gameplay flow, pacing, and player guidance through visual design.
- Ability to work with modular assets and adapt to a stylized art direction.
- Passion for dark fantasy, Souls-like atmospheres, and immersive world design.
